Dima Hasao
Welcome to Haflong - the only hill station of Assam, the state of undulating plains and rivers. The name ‘Haflong’ comes from the indigenous Dimasa language and is the headquarter of Dima Hasao district. Haflong experiences a pleasant weather all year around which makes it a prime tourist spot of Assam.
This six days’ quality tour will take you to some splendid viewpoints of Haflong Hill, the greeneries of Umrangso, and unfold the real mystery of birds committing suicide in Jatinga. It is time to explore this hidden paradise of Assam.
You will be received by our representative at the Airport. If you choose to reach Guwahati by train, you’ll be received at the railway station and straightaway will be headed towards Haflong. For better travel experience, opt for a train journey and relish the scenic views of hills and tunnels all this way. On reaching Haflong, check in at your homestay, sit back and relax. The first day is all about some sightseeing across the length and breadth of this little town. Attractions include: Haflong Lake: The beautiful Haflong Lake is situated at the heart of the town. The green waters of the lake is sparkly clean and well-maintained and is protected by Dima Hasao Tourist-Forest Department and Dima Hasao Autonomous Council. This lake attracts thousands of migratory birds during winter which makes it ideal for any birdwatcher. You can also hop onto a boat and take a soothing boat ride while the sun sets down. Circuit House: An old government property situated right atop a hill, the circuit house will remind you of the architectures from the British era. It has a viewpoint from which you can clearly get a spectacular view of the Borail range, the last Himalayan mountain range. Bendao Baiglai Waterfall: About 13 kms from Haflong, there is a village named Samparidisa which has been declared as one of the Swachh villages of Assam by the state government. Take an easy 3 kms trek from the village to reach the exotic Bendao Baglai Waterfall. This area is home to three magnificent waterfalls nestled amid the lush green forests of Dima Hasao. Post breakfast, explore some of the nearby places of Jatinga such as: Ethnic Village: A manmade marvel by the Tourism department where one will get to see the blend of different cultures and traditions of the local tribal communities of Dima Hasao. Take a look at their traditional dorms and huts and know the stories behind such a lifestyle. Walk across the paddy fields surrounding the ethnic village. Jatinga: You will move 6 km south from the main town to enjoy the scenic view from Jatinga Bird Watching Centre. A common myth surrounding this region that has travelled over time is about migratory birds committing suicide for some unknown reasons which is yet to be discovered. Maibang: This town was the capital city of the old Kachari Rulers between the 16th and 18th centuries. The relics which were sculptured and carved during that time period has been preserved in a museum of Haflong District. Located in the hilly region of the Mahur River, the little town of Maibong enjoys a lot of tourist attention as it is located only 44.6 kms from Haflong. Visit the Stone House, check for the inscriptions and Return to Haflong by the evening and explore the local markets and try some local cuisines. Overnight stay at homestay.
If you’re an adventurer and love trekking then we have something special for you. Today, you will get to climb the highest peak of Assam i.e. Mt. Tumjang. The height of the peak is 1860 metres above sea level. After this awesome trek experience, head back to the homestay by the evening. Overnight stay at homestay.
After an early breakfast, you will head towards Umrangso with a little halt at Gunjung viewpoint wherein you can enjoy the mesmerising view of Borail range. Located near the border of Assam-Meghalaya, Umrangso is becoming a major tourist destination because of its luch greeneries and the big reservoir. After reaching, relax yourself in the Umrangso Golf Course where you will get the beautiful view of the lake and the big Kopili Dam. The reservoir attracts many migratory birds that can be spotted from the Bird Watching Centre. Overnight Stay at homestay.
Today, it is time to say goodbye to this beautiful place after a healthy breakfast at the homestay. While heading towards Guwahati, you will get a major halt at Panimur Waterfalls which is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the state. After spending some quality time there, move forward and reach Guwahati by the evening. You will be dropped at your respective destination for your onward journey. - After making your first payment, you will get an email confirmation.
- Once you make the 100% payment for your booking, you'll get the booking voucher containing all the information about your trip.
Refund Policy
The applicable refund amount will be processed within 10 business days.
Cancellation Policy
- If cancellation are made 30 days before the date of travel then 25.0% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
- If cancellation are made 15 days to 30 days before the date of travel then 50.0% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
- If cancellation are made 0 days to 15 days before the date of travel then 100.0% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
Payment Terms Policy
100% of total tour cost will have to be paid 10 days before the date of travel.
