- The Mt. Tumjang trek, also known as the Sielkal trek, starts near Haflong in Assam. The initial trail leads to P Leikul village, followed by a climb to the Tumjang village. Depending on your goal, you can choose to summit Sielkal Peak for panoramic views or extend the trek to reach the loftier Mt. Tumjang, the highest point in Assam.

- From Haflong, you need to travel to Mahur village, which is about 30 kms away. It will take about an hour. From Mahur, take the local road towards P. Leikul Village, a stretch of 13 kms will take nearly 30 mins to cover. The roads are in good condition and can be easily navigated by car.
- This short, yet moderately challenging trek offers breathtaking views of the Barail Range, the Mahur River, and the verdant valleys below. The trek usually takes around 2-3 hours, depending on your pace and rest breaks. The trail begins with a gradual ascent through a jungle path from P. Leikul village to Tumjang village. After reaching the Welcome Gate, the path gets steeper as you make your way to the peak. While the trek itself is not strenuous, it's recommended for those with decent fitness levels.
