The Nongkrem Dance Festival is a vibrant celebration held annually by the Khasi community of Meghalaya, India. Steeped in tradition and thanksgiving, the festival honors the powerful Goddess Ka Blei Synshar for a bountiful harvest and prosperity.

• Witness the dazzling display of traditional Khasi outfits, adorned with vibrant colors and intricate beadwork.
• Witness the 'Pomblang' ceremony, a goat sacrifice performed by the Syiem of Khyrim (King) and the high priest.
• Observe the special rituals conducted by Ka Syiem Sad (Queen Mother) and Ki Sohblei (Priests).

• Day 1: You will be picked by our representative from Shillong city or airport. The adventure begins with a scenic 1-hour drive from Shillong to Smit. The afternoon unfolds with a delightful exploration of the bustling markets, where the excitement of the upcoming festival fills the air. Witnessing the preparations and soaking in the pre-festival vibes will be a truly enriching experience. As evening descends, the festivities commence in earnest. Traditional dances and music will fill the air, transporting you to the heart of Khasi culture. To cap off this unforgettable day, savor a delicious traditional Khasi dinner amidst the lively atmosphere. Overnight stay in Shillong.
• Day 2: On the following day, post breakfast our representative will drive you to Laitlum canyon around 1 hour for sightseeing. The head back to the festival venue, diving deep into the heart of the festival in Smit. Witness captivating dance performances, traditional rituals, and offerings made by the locals. Immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere, interact with the friendly people of Smit, and learn about the festival's significance. With a heart full of memories, depart Smit and return to Shillong. Do some last minute shopping in Police Bazaar, Shillong or visit Wards lake if time permits before your departure.

• Meghalaya experiences pleasant weather in November. However, carry light woolens for evenings.
• Be mindful of local customs and traditions. Dress modestly and seek permission before taking photographs.
• Be responsible for your belongings and follow safety guidelines during the festival.
