• The Aoling festival, also known as Aoleang Monyu, is a vibrant celebration by the Konyak tribe of Nagaland. Held in the first week of April, it marks the arrival of spring. The Aoling festival, a captivating spectacle hosted by the Konyak tribe, the largest among Nagaland's 17 recognized tribes. A unique blend of thanksgiving, merriment, and cultural extravaganza, Aoling offers a window into the rich heritage and traditions of the Konyak people.
• Time of Celebration: First week of April (dates can vary). It takes place for six days with specific rituals for each day.

• Day 1: You will be picked by our representative from Dimapur, embark on a scenic 5-6 hour journey to Mon district, where you'll check into your hotel/homestay. Take the afternoon to explore local markets. As the day progresses into evening, immerse yourself in the captivating Aoling Festival celebrations. Witness colourful cultural performances, traditional dances, and rituals that showcase the rich heritage of the Konyak tribe, with overnight stay in Mon
• Day 2: Post breakfast, start your day immersed in the vibrant Aoling Festival activities, engaging in traditional games and witnessing sacred rituals that embody the Konyak tribe's cultural richness. In the afternoon, guided by a local expert, venture into a quaint Konyak village to interact intimately with locals, gaining insight into their daily lives and age-old traditions. As dusk settles, savour a traditional Konyak feast, sampling authentic Naga cuisine amid warm hospitality. Complete your day under the starlit sky with enchanting folk music performances, deepening your appreciation for Nagaland's cultural heritage and community spirit. Overnight stay in Mon.
• Day 3: Post breakfast begins your morning by exploring the historical war memorials and breathtaking scenic viewpoints scattered throughout Mon district. Later in the afternoon, embark on a scenic 5-6 hour drive back to Dimapur along with our representatives, taking in the diverse landscapes and rural charm along the way.

• Expect large crowds and potential traffic congestion, especially during peak times. Plan your journey in advance, considering alternative routes or public transportation options to avoid delays.

• Keep your belongings secure at all times. Avoid carrying large amounts of cash and consider using a money belt or secure bag. Be vigilant in crowded areas and report any suspicious activity to festival staff or security personnel.
• Research the cultural significance of the festival and familiarise yourself with any local customs or etiquette.
• Respect religious or ceremonial practices by observing quietly and refraining from disruptive behaviour.
• Dispose of trash responsibly, use recycling bins when available, and minimise your environmental impact.
